Nikki, from Cherry Lending & Finance, and Stacey, from Aurora Blinds & Shutters, joined forces for the Girls Just Want To Have Fun International Women’s Day Event on 8th March 2024.

The event was a huge success and they raised $1,700 for the Mornington Community Support Centre. MCSC is a registered charity dedicated to the ethos of community supporting community. They provide material aid and support services to people experiencing personal and financial difficulties in Mornington, Mt Martha, Mt Eliza and Moorooduc.

Nikki is a strong believer in community spirit and was pleased to run yet another successful event. Bringing strong women together (and even some men) was great not only for networking purposes but also to inspire, educate, empower, and encourage women from all walks of life. Nikki is always looking for ways to connect with people, and her yearly women’s day event is a way to not only give back to the community, but to also bring people together.

The event was held at South Beach Project in Mount Martha, and the turnout was great. The speaker, Judge Sara Hinchey, gave an insightful talk about her journey from Barrister to Judge, and how imposter syndrome challenged her along the way. Her ability to follow her dream, despite the roadblocks, was a great reminder to everyone to never give up.

With music by the talented Gab Vargas, amazing sponsors and raffles, and delicious food, the event served as a reminder that anything is possible when you put in the effort. While the event itself was a lot of fun and very inspiring, the biggest takeaway was the support given to the Mornington Community Support Centre.

A great event by Nikki and Stacey, who look forward to hosting another one in 2025!

“Stacey and I love holding these events and connecting with such wonderful people, but mostly we are so thankful for the support that then allows us to pass on any funds raised to a fantastic local charity.” – Nikki Berzin, Cherry Lending & Finance.
